My glossybox finally arrived!! After the little snafu with missing products last month I was excited to see this one intact. Well..mostly. Glossybox, like must other subscriptions, includes an insert describing the products you've received. Well this month my products and the insert didn't match but I can't complain because I like what I actually got more vs. what I "should" have gotten.
For those who may not know Glossybox is another monthly subscription similar to BirchBox and Ipsy. It is, however, more expensive and supposedly more high-end (product-wise) and they are supposed to send more deluxe and full-size items. It's $21 a month and they have varying subscription types i.e. monthly, 3-month, etc.
For the most part I enjoy GlossyBox but I think ever since they've opened in the US they have been slipping on the high-end product front. I've also heard of a lot of girls have major customer service issues so take that for what you will. Now on to pictures and you can see if you like it as well..
This was a pretty great month..I feel like it was $21 well pent..more so than last month. See below for item descriptions...
First up we have a sample size spray bottle of Issey Miyake's Pleats Please. It retails $92 for 3.4 oz and Fragantica.com describes the fragrance as "Pleats Please is a joyful, optimistic and exuberant fragrance of "vertically pleated" flowery, fruity and woody structure signed by perfumer Aurelien Guichard. Its opening splashes with Asian hybrid fruit Nashi, generated by crossing apples and pears (pear flavor is the one that dominates). The heart symbolizes femininity with floral accords of peony and sweet pea, while Indole molecule provides freshness and vigor to the composition. The base is generous with intensive accords of patchouli, cedar, vanilla absolute and white musk".
I had to look this up for you because all I smell coming out of this bottle is grandma..pure, distilled grandma. I must not have a very sophisticated olfactory sense... Oh and did I mention how strong this perfume is. You can smell grandma coming from a mile away.
Normally I dislike bath samples as I'm picky about scent. This Heartland Fragrance Co. bath salts sample in White Ginger smells incredible though. Not so much like ginger but a soft, pretty white floral. If these perform well I might grab a full-size.
Yay..hairspray. Can you hear my enthusiasm? Well ok I can't complain as this is small enough to toss in a purse but it's just...boring. Does that make any sense? Anyway the product in Denise Richards Volume Extend by Cristophe. Quite the mouthful of a name for plain old hairspray...but hey I guess if it sounds fancy then you can get away with charging $20 for 10 oz.
So here was my favorite item from the box and I'm sure you can tell why (lipstick hoarder? who me?). This is a mark.(from Avon) Lipclick Luxe lipstick in M. Powerment Petal. This turned out to be a really pretty MLBB shade. Kudos to GlossyBox for sending out a wearable shade. My only complaint about this one is the formula is pretty dry..it needed a gloss on top for sure.
Last, but not least, is this month's extra from jewelmint.com. Jewel Mint is a sister website to the Olsen twins Style Mint. There is a whole slew of "mint" sites to order from but I never have. The ring itself is a cute Art-Deco style cocktail ring. I actually like it so thanks GB.
Overall good month..What do you guys think of it?

Next up is a teeny, tiny foil packet of Wella's Velvet Amplifier style primer. I used it however I can't tell you much other than the sample was to small to actually sample with any noticeable results. Not interested..moving on
Yay! Zoya! My favorite polish brand and they sent a full size bottle of Ziv. Awesome job GlossyBox. Ziv is a shimmery, full-coverage gold with an excellent formula as per usual. Perfect for Christmas!Normally I dislike bath samples as I'm picky about scent. This Heartland Fragrance Co. bath salts sample in White Ginger smells incredible though. Not so much like ginger but a soft, pretty white floral. If these perform well I might grab a full-size.

Oh I can't wait my glossybox... It is still on the way.
ReplyDeleteI think they are all ok... but not too impressed. I am not interested in perfume. I want to straight my hair not volume. The lipstick is not my color... They are ok but just not me. Wonder why no box is sending straight hair stuffs.
I love the bath salt, Zoya nail and the Jewel Mint ring! :D
I loved the lippie but I like those kind of shades. I don't care about hairspray either..the only stuff I like is hair masques and oils from subs. Yeah I'm gonna have to scrub out the upstairs bath(it's used just for the puppy's bath time) so I can use those salts:)
ReplyDeleteI have considered subscribing to Glossybox but decided by £12.95 a month could be better spent a select few full size products I have chosen myself, but this box doesn't actually look too bad.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, een with good CS, I'm having a tough time justifying GB. I like them but I don't feel the value is there. I have been loving Ipsy though a lot!
