Here is what I recieved from Ipsy for December. Ipsy is a monthly subscription that costs ten dollars and sends you 4-6 deluxe beauty samples and a cute makeup bag. When they first began they were called myGlam, however I was pretty unsatisfied with the service.
After a few months though, they renamed the business and everything seemed to pick up in terms of quality samples and full/deluxe samples. The company was started and owned, I believe, by Michelle Phan a youtube guru. In any case they started to send out more high end brands and seem to be focusing on creating a "look" with each bag..unlike Birchbox or it's other competitors. I think this is a fun idea so I will probably keep my subscription.
What I received was an Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero (black), a be a bombshell lipgloss in Hot Mess, a NYX powder shadow in Black Pearl, Mai Couture highlighting sheets and a Mirabella face and eye primer.
The UD liner in zero is a satiny black deluxe sample. As a liner I know alot of people love these, however sadly they don't last longer than 2 hours on me. Zero is a nice black but I like their liner in Perversion better..it seems much deeper and darker.
The gloss from Be a Bombshell in Hot Mess was a pretty, bright, tomato red shade. It's consistency was a tad sticky and thick but it did have a nice wear time for a gloss. It lasted about 3 hours and faded well. I found it to be a very bright red and almost wanted to tone it down with a darker lipstick underneath..I'm kinda nervous about bright glosses though so that's just me.
The NYX ultra pearl mania powder is a pretty charcoal black with a bit of silver shimmer. I love most of NYX's products and own a few of these powders. They wear well under a primer but they do tend to be messy and difficult to get out of the bottle. That being said they are only 2.50-3.00 dollars on cherryculture.com so they're worth a shot if you want a budget pigment.
The next product, Mai couturse highlighting sheets, are gorgeous! I adore highlighters so having some on the go is awesome. Yes..I highlight on the go..total beauty nerd. They came off as a lovely golden, pink sheen and one sheet was enough for my face and chest. I love these!! You can find these on beauty.com and I believe they're 28.00 for 50.
The last product was the Mirabella eye and face primer. Honestly this brand is new to me so I don't have an opinion on it. The primer pretty much feels like pure silicone and is very slippery. The Mirabella webite says "Silky, smooth, clear formula primer slides on the skin creating the perfect base for any Mirabella foundation. Avoid lash-line, use sparingly. Paraben-free; FD&C/D&C Dye-free. Net Wt.: 12.85g/0.45 US oz. ". It's main ingredient features cyclopentasiloxane..there has been a bit of controversy about the safety of this ingredient however I am not a scientist so I won't weigh in on it. I don't mind using it but you may want to research it yourself. It costs about 29.00 bucks on Mirabella's website. In terms of performance...I don't see much difference between this and using Monistat chafing gel as a primer(ton of silicone and waaay cheaper).

Overall really decent bag! Hope next month can compare.
